Challenge: Many companies struggle with managing employee stress levels. This course provides basic strategies for reducing stress in the workplace through a scenario-based learning experience. While this course is for a fictional company, "Trava," I consulted with an HR and mental health specialist as my SMEs for the project. This project allows the learner to experience several possible scenarios and outcomes as well as direct instruction on the content.
Solution: Create a universal learning design that allows users to choose to learn through reading before embarking on the scenario or jumping right into the scenario and learning on the fly with the help of the expert character, Camila. Learners have 3 possible results after working through the scenario with a goal of achieving an excellent rating on their performance review.

Simulated Challenge: Volunteers with the Humane Society aged 18-60s with less than 1 year volunteer experience with dogs have had an increase in incidents involving entering kennels of dogs that should not be approached. There has also been an increase in inquiries for help before taking necessary steps to calm a scared or overly excited dog.
Solution: Provide training on reading a dog's body language in which learners will be able to identify when a dog is unapproachable and the volunteer should seek help, steps to take in the event a dog is approachable but nervous, and when a dog should be approached and rewarded.

Challenge: Learners will be undergoing a company wide professional development course over the next 6 months to improve collaborative relationships and communication among teams.
Because the subject matter has nine types or pathways, there is information that does not need to be consumed by every learner as they will only need to learn about their specifically determined needs. This course (1 of 7) will be paired with instructor led training on the Enneagram and its benefits.
Solution: Create a discovery based course that is customizable for each Enneagram type with multiple pathways for the learner to explore. This course provides support for the ILT as well as a way for the learner to understand their unique, individual pathway for learning without being overwhelmed by content for other learners.

Tool: Articulate Rise
Time in development: 4 hours
Simulated Challenge: Imaginary company needs training for new hires on essential customer service skills before entering a customer facing position.
Solution: I created a training using Articulate Rise in order to give plenty of information on the four essential customer service skills. Rise allows for the learner to navigate forward and backward with a balance of interactivity and information. I've also included external resources for learners to continue their research.
Interactivities Used: flashcards, sort, embedded video, scenario-based quiz, tabbed information, and linked article
